DICCI members call on PM

NEW DELHI: On 7 August, office-bearers of the DICCI (Dalit Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industries) met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and apprised him of the various issues related to the organization and its members. The PM assured them of all possible help to DICCI entrepreneurs from his government. The DICCI delegation expressed its gratitude towards the PM.

Shraman talent felicitation programme

CHHAPRA (Bihar): On 17 August, Srikrishna Janmastami was celebrated and Thiru D. Nagendran Shraman Pratibha Samman Samaroh was organized at a programme at the Yadav hostel, Salempur. On this occasion, 37 students were felicitated for excelling in different exams. Among others, Priyanka Kumari Yadav, who stood second in the merit list of Intermediate Examination 2014 in Bihar received an award. The function was chaired by retired headmistress Ambika Rai while Prof Arun Kumar, Principal of
Shivjanma Rai College proposed a vote of thanks.

Bahujan candidates selected in civil services

NEW DELHI: Tribal, Dalit and OBC candidates selected in the civil services exam 2013 were felicitated at a function organized by Common Concern at Indian Social Institute on 10 August. Prof Vivek Kumar of JNU, among others, addressed the function, which was conducted by retired IRS officer Vinay Paul.
