Subject: Fwd: MOST URGENT: Cover story on legacy of Savitribai Phule for January 2013 FORWARD Press

Dear Sharmila,

Thank you so much for taking my call and being willing to assist FORWARD Press directly (preferred;-) or indirectly (appreciated) at such short notice. Even a report … that shows how this project with young teachers/educationists from Maharashtra is part of continuing Savitribai’s legacy/revolution. This sounds like a good news story (“Why is Savitribai smiling?”). On the other hand just today there are reports of IIDS’s latest report on a survey of 122 schools across seven (BIMAROU mainly) states, from November 2011 through March 2012.The state of Dalits is clearly still precarious.

Looking forward to hearing back from you – promptly and positively.

Ivan
