Anupriya Patel: Reservation is not a charity but a system of protection

Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Anupriya Patel, believes that she is still treading the path shown by her father, Sonelal Patel. SC, ST and OBC welfare remains a priority for her. A special conversation with Forward Press

In some form or the other, the question of reservation is propped up from time to time. Sometimes it’s the implementation that is questioned while at others the very system is critiqued and scrutinized. However, every time the questioners end up swallowing their words with their pride. This happens only because of the unity amongst the lower castes and classes of society. The Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Anupriya Patel, believes that the people who raise such questions are akin to students who have not done the required homework. The students who are abreast with their homework would never raise such questions. Here are the edited excerpts from an interview with the Union Minister by Forward Press:
