The history of Marathi Ambedkarite Literature

Forward Press also publishes books on Bahujan issues. Forward Press books shed light on the widespread problems as well as the finer aspects of Bahujan (Dalit, OBC, Adivasi, Nomadic, Pasmanda) society, culture, literature and politics

Dr B.R. Ambedkar had advised his followers to strengthen and speed up the movement by the appropriate use of the pen and intellect. While conveying this message, he had the Russian revolution in mind, which was ideologically inspired by Rousseau and Voltaire, among others.

While Dr Ambedkar was well acquainted with both philosophers’ views, he had distinctly given more importance to Voltaire’s ideology over Rousseau’s. He often asked why not even a single Voltaire had emerged in India.
