Why Dalitbahujans are poorly represented in top science-teaching institutions

If institutions like the IISER have a poor Dalitbahujan presence, it is because they are not following the reservation norms. Information obtained through an RTI application underlines this point, says Nawal Kishore Kumar

While Dalitbahujans are poorly represented in institutions of higher learning, they are worse off in top science-teaching institutions. The presence of Dalitbahujans in these institutions is so small that one is tempted to ask whether they are reserved for the upper castes.
