Subhash Chandra Kushwaha is known in Hindi society both for his fiction and his key interventions and new perspectives in history writing. Among his works on history are 'Chauri-Chaura: Vidroh aur Swadheenta Andolan', 'Awadh ka Kishan Vidroh: 1920 se 1922', 'Kabir Hain ki Marte Nahin', 'Bhil Vidroh ka Itihaas', 'Tantya Bhil: The Great Indian Moonlighter' and 'Chauri-Chaura par Aupniveshik Nyay'.
