Shikshak Maitri Samman for Dr Sunil Kumar ‘Suman’
WARDHA (Maharashtra): Well-known tribal thinker-writer and social activist Dr Sunil Kumar ‘Suman’ was feted with Shikshak Maitri Samman by Lord Buddha Maitri Sangh (Lord Buddha TV channel), Maharashtra on 27 April. Dr. Sunil was feted for his work in the field of academics for spreading the message of Ambedkar. Dr. Sunil is a Gond tribal from Champaran, Bihar. He studied in the prestigious JNU, Delhi. Presently, he is Assistant Professor at Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University, Wardha -Rajneesh Kumar Ambedkar
Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule award for Gladson Dungdung
YAVATMAL (Maharashtra): Gladson Dungdung, the respected writer and human rights activist from Jharkhand was felicitated with ‘Kranti Jyoti Savitribai Phule Award 2014’ by Samtaparva Prathithan, Yavatmal at a function on 11 May. The award was conferred upon him for raising tribal issues at national and international fora through her writings and her struggle on the ground. His books Whose country is it anyway, Crossfire, Vikas Ke Kabragah, Jharkhand Mein Asmita Ka Sangharsh, Nagdi Ka Nagada and Ulgunan Ka Sauda were well-received. -Rajan Kumar
