Dalit population growing faster … but falling behind rest of India

Just over half of all Indian households don’t have a toilet at home, for Dalit households that figure is two-thirds. 67.3% of India’s rural households 75% of Dalit rural households relieve themselves out of doors; in cities, 12.6% of households rely on the outdoors; for Dalit urban households the figure is 24%.
